WOOD DOGS (1934, 1994):
The wood element makes these Dogs more open to new experiences and less judgmental. Wood Dogs can see and understand the "gray" in situations and are therefore the most empathic of all the Dog family. FIRE DOGS (1946, 2006):
Fire builds passion and confidence in Dogs. Fire Dogs can balance the needs of others with their own, and so are less humble and more confident than most Dogs. They are charismatic and can win support easily.

EARTH DOGS (1958, 2018):
Double earth helps balance dogs' anxieties and phobias. Earth Dogs are quite stable and reliable and less prone to stress than other Dogs. Earth Dogs are realistic and very practical. They are good with methodical and detailed work.

Metal strengthens Dogs' ideals and moral beliefs. Metal Dogs like to speak their minds. They may lead chaste lives, and are far more likely than any other type of Dog to be attracted to self-sacrificing work in charities or religion.

Water makes these Dogs more adaptable and intuitive. Water Dogs are big "softies" emotionally and are prone to taking in and caring for all the local strays. They fill their homes with unconditional love and acceptance. They are pure angels and invaluable to society.

Tiger	Best	There will be much understanding and respect between these two. The Practical Dog will ease the Tiger's impulsiveness, and the energetic Tiger will chase away Dog's anxieties and inner doubts.
Horse	Best	A solid relationship of similar tempermants and respect. Dog will understand Horse's need for freedom and will be supportive. Horse will openly demonstrate aprreciation, which Dog will cherish.
Rat	Good But Needs Work	This pairing can work if kept at friendship level. Both signs are nagged by personal insecurities, which can accumulate with this pairing. Rat's secrecy will be misinterpreted by Dog as underhanded scheming.
